Today is the first day I have worked out in about 3 months. I can't walk correctly now! So maybe I pushed myself a little too hard while I was on the tredmill (partly because I was working out w/ a new buddy?). Now the joint or muscle (I'm not sure)where my leg meets my hip hurts w/ every step! Oh the joys of not being as young as I once was.
Here's the breakdown of today's workout:
- 30 reps per side @ 40lbs on the ab machine
- 30 leg lifts - bending the knees up not keeping the legs straight out
- 30 reps per side (back, left, right) on a thing I don't know what it's called - abs!
- 30 min on the elliptical
- walk 2 min, run 1 min for 30 min on the tredmill
Each day I work out, it will be posted here (yikes)!

What's nice about my gym is that every time I attempt to go back the trainers say "Hey! Welcome back!" and it makes me feel both nice to be back and bad it's been so long that they say that to me!! This time I exclaimed with conviction "It's for real this time - I have a friend joining!" Is it sad that I can only go to the gym because I have a friend coming now?! Thank you Katelyn for being my motivation!
Hopefully this new found motivation (aka Katelyn) will be enough to carry me all the way to a marathon!! Or at least to a race of some sorts!
